This restaurant was recommended to us by a local and deemed "the best Italian place in all of New Jersey and a reason I visit Hoboken on the regular" It did not disappoint! Everything was delicious and I still think about the pesto pasta dish. The service was quick and we never had a dry glass. It is BYOB so if you would like a drink, you MUST bring it. That is the only slightly sad part about our visit, we didn't know. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! My next trip to Hoboken, I will be back for sure!
Very special place for me as my fiancé and I had our first date here. Been going for years and love their food, staff, and BYOB bottle so much. Perfect for date night or just a good meal with the boys. Absolutely love this place!!!
Small very nice Italian restaurant with a refined menu and mature clientele. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday night, granted it was the day after Christmas, so we had to sit in the semi-heated sidewalk shelter. The dishes were on the fancier side. I had chicken Milanese, which was a pan fried chicken cutlet topped with prosciutto and standard mozzarella on a giant bed of arugula and chopped tomato with a sweet balsamic glaze on the salad. The portion was enormous and it was absolutely delicious. I tried the veal tortellini and that was even more excellent. The veal tortellini was very tasty, and the cream sauce was so rich. The Nonna's polpetta pie pizza was below average. The crust was crisp, dry, and bland, and the toppings were also bland. 4.5/10 pizza, but amazing entrees.
Food was delicious. The short rib ravioli is a must try. The spacing between courses was a little fast, entrees came out immediately after the appetizers. However, it was still a great dinner.
There is a reason this place is one of the most talked about Italian restaurants in Hoboken. It's an absolute hit. They do not take reservations, so be prepared for that & they are BYOB! Plenty of bars and liquor stores nearby to grab a bottle of wine or a drink while you wait/ after dinner. We came in late on a Friday and the staff was very nice and accommodating to us despite the rush. The food we were served was delicious & the truffle mushroom tagliatelle pasta was to die for!! The pasta tasted so fresh and had the perfect mushroom/truffle flavor in my opinion. As a mushroom and truffle lover, I was ecstatic. Not to mention, the portions were HUGE. I ended up getting like 3 meals out of it! The pasta held up well even as leftovers, which is how you know it's good!! Would definitely be back to try the iconic rigatoni vodka pasta with mozzarella pearls and try some pizzas and app's!! Their dessert menu looked good but we were too full -- make sure to save some space for it!
Possibly my favorite italian restaurant in Hoboken! I've been several times and love the short rib agnolotti, burrata, salads, pizza. The giant meatball was my least favorite, it is very doughy and too much breadcrumbs. The pastas can be a bit salty but they are tasty. The best is outdoor dining during the summer underneath the real grape vines 10/10
The pasta here was so good and the service is efficient. My first time trying Nutella pizza and it wasn't for me but a large enough dessert to share. Overall, it was great except for the fact that we kept getting asked if we were still eating/done even though we were still working through our food.
Food: 5 Everything we've ordered has been excellent! Aglio e olio is nice and spicy. The Veal Milanese is huge, and wonderfully dressed with raw red onions, fresh cherry tomatoes, peppadew peppers, and arugula. Plus, it's BYOB Ambiance 4 They don't take reservations, and wait can sometimes be in excess of an hour. Places within easy walking distance to grab a drink are few. They also need a vestibule to keep the frigid winter blasts away when someone opens the door (DON'T take a table near the door). Service 3 Waitstaff can be hit or miss. There is one waiter with a scraggly beard in a tshirt who is mediocre at best. However, there's another guy who has glasses and a short beard, always dressed in a long sleeve black shirt, who is fantastic. Also, while I understand they don't provide complimentary bread service, as they have a focaccia option for $7.50, it's ridiculous that they wouldn't provide bread with a $25 cheese plate. Are you supposed to eat the four cheeses by themselves? The few tartalli they provide aren't exactly great vehicles for the cheeses. Overall 4 Worth going to. Easily rivals any other Italian place in NNJ.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Hoboken (that's also BYOB too!) we ordered a bunch of food but started with the burrata crostini and stuffed peppers , got the bee sting pizza and espresso ravioli which was 10/10, and ended with the shoemakers chicken.
